‘Pimping out’ my dog.. Ben.

Yes I know.. He’s a stud. I get that all the time.

I’ve never been shy explaining how I like my dog ‘Benny’ more than everything else on the planet.. Ha I hate to offend but it’s true.. I can spend hours and hours with my dog, people – not so much.. It’s nothing personal, it’s just how we’re built..

So long story short, I’ve always known I should feed my dog a ‘RAW PALEO DIET’.. Ya that’s right.. This means raw meat primarily, raw fish, and the occasional homemade ‘raw’ treat.. I’ve always known this but for some reason decided to go with the ‘Holistic Organic Kibble’ diet. I’ve recently learned how bad a choice that truly was..

At the end of the day we all love our dogs, But how much? How much are you willing to do for your pooch?

I decided he gives me tons, so why not give it back!

This all started a few weeks back when Kevin and Jenny from ‘Peasant’s Craft’ told me my dog could be shedless, heavier, stronger, healthier, and of course happier. Feeding him RAW paleo seemed like a no brainer the instant I heard it! And yes I already knew it – I just needed it rammed down my throat.

So Benny’s Paleo journey started about 5 days ago and should be an interesting one. He’s 5 years old. He currently weighs 125 (60 less than his dad). He sheds like absolute crazy. His energy levels are descent. His coat is ragged a little – not nearly as nice as it could be. And up until this morning (day 5 for Benny) he wasn’t eating much. He just ate a solid 2.5 pounds for brekky!

Long story short, I’m hoping to..

- Keep him around for a good 12-15 years

- Turn his coat thicker, oilier, and blacker

- Prevent all the shedding

- Preserve his hips and joints

- Put 10-30 pounds of lean mass (muscle) on him

I’ll be sure to keep all of you updated on his progress.

SIDE NOTE: Imagine I took YOU, gave you the exact amopunt of food I wanted you to eat. Gave you only organic fresh meats and fish. Allowed zero cheats – at all. And of course made you workout 3-6 times a week. Imagine what type of shape you’d be in. It’s tougher in the summer but something to think about no doubt! Quality Paleo eating WILL give you whatever it is you’re searching for..
