Omega 3

It is unknown to the majority of the population that omega 3 is the most deficient essential nutrient in the modern day diet. Besides exercise and diet Omega 3 would probably make the most difference to your physical health. In order to have a healthy diet , omega 3 fat supplements are something you should consider adding to your daily diet. Omega 3 fats protect the heart and the brain, supports circulation, boost moods, lowers blood pressure, they also have a positive effect on depression, skin, joints and diabetes because they are anti-inflammatories.

Inflammation is the leading cause of of virtually every modern day disease due to an imbalance of omega 3 to omega 6 ratio. Because the modern day diet is high is grains and legumes, farmed fish/ seafood and meat from animals that are fed with unnatural substances ( i.e. cows are fed grains and corn instead of grass so they can gain weight at a fast rate, hmmmm, make any sense?) which now make them high in omega 6, everyone not supplementing with omega 3 is in a state of inflammation.

We highly recommend supplementing your diet with a sufficient amount of omega 3 fish oils. There is no surprise that omega 3 is one of the top supplements and everyone could benefit.

Buying Fish Oil: When buying Omega 3 supplements, check the labels. Some manufacturers will add other fish oils including one at least that is not meant to be consumed by humans. Pure supplements will contain only Omega 3 fish oils. Be sure to look for fish oil supplements that are extra high in dha, use a fish from clean natural sources and are processed using a special process to get rid of all toxins, metals and PCBS. Look for have a pure pharmaceutical grade, molecularly distilled fish oil product that is naturally high in DHA and EPA.

Vitamin D

Vitamin D is a fat soluble vitamin that is critical to maintaining optimal health. Being deficient in this vitamin makes you more at risk of fractures, several cancers, alzheimer’s, dementia, MS, cardiovascular disease, asthma, autoimmune disorders, osteoporosis and muscle weakness or wasting. It has been shown to reduce inflammation, help prevent diabetes, promote healthy mood and prevent S.A.D. and support brain health and is critical for absorption of calcium. Fish, liver, and egg yolk are the only foods that naturally contain vitamin D. The sun provides the largest dose. When the rays hit the skin, a pre-vitamin D is made and is then transformed into an active vitamin by the body; 20-30 mins of sun exposure will give you about 10 000 iu’s of vitamin D, a few days worth. If it’s impossible to get your vitamin D dose through sunshine supplement with vitamin D capsules, about 5000 iu’s a day.

Probiotics

The world is full of microorganisms (including bacteria), and so are people’s bodies-Ideally 85% of the bacteria in the human gut should be “good” and 15% is the less favorable kind. Good bacteria is vital to proper development of the immune system, to protect against microorganisms that could cause disease, and to the digestion and absorption of food and nutrients. They also prevent the overgrowth of yeast, fungus and produce substances that can lower cholesterol.

Poor eating habits, chlorinated “tap” water, stress (cortisol), disease and the use of antibiotics in food production as well as in medical treatments can cause problems in the gastrointestinal tract by destroying good bacteria and allowing the “bad” bacteria to multiply . When the ratio of good bacteria to bad is lowered, problems begin to arise such as excessive gas, bloating, constipation, intestinal toxicity and poor absorption of nutrients.

Probiotic supplement are live bacteria similar to those naturally found in people’s guts and contain millions and millions of live bacteria to boost and replenish levels of the health promoting good bacteria in your digestive tract. Once there, these probiotic reinforcements join forces with the existing good bacteria to help inhibit the growth of more harmful microbes.
