CrossFit Kids
CrossFit Kids is a new program designed specifically for children aged 3 to 10 years of age.
Program Overview
CrossFit Kids is a lifestyle changing program that includes exercise education in an encouraging, supportive, and fun environment. It’s designed to provide children with the skill and exercise needed to increase physical activity, to promote better motor skills, cognitive skills and neurological skills. Every session includes a warm-up; focus work on a basic athletic movement and/ or gymnastics skill; a short Workout of the Day; and most importantly, a game.
Our head coach, Tyler Touchette, creates the programming and has attended a CrossFit Kids certification program in Miami Florida. The programming is fun, easy and teaches kids fun exercises they can do at home. We currently work with over 50 kids in our Cornwall gym.
Our Goal
We strive to help kids improve their overall health and wellbeing, we want our kids to grow up healthy, strong and have a lifelong love of working out; thus avoiding the common problems associated with childhood inactivity and obesity. Unhealthy weight gain has been attributed to poor eating habits and lack of exercise because they are spending more time in front of a TV, computer or video-games which all lack education about healthy cooking, healthy eating habits and physical activity. Overweight children are much more likely to become overweight adults unless they adopt and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
We encourage our kids to grow up healthy, strong with a powerful sense of self worth to enjoy their life to its full potential.
